One way track to either Socialism or Oblivion


As I've listened to the two presidential candidates speak concerning the latest economic woes, I've heard them say exactly what I have perceived for quite a while.

President John Adams once said, "Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." We are seeing just how true this is right now.

History Lesson for the day: our Founding Fathers wanted a land of many freedoms and less government. The only way that they could survive with a small government is if its people were SELF-governed. How do you get people to be self-governed? Hire a man to print the first United States Bibles and put inside their front covers a recommendation from the US Congress that these Bibles should be used in every household across America. This is precisely what they did!

And guess what? It worked! Because the vast majority of people were God-fearing Christian people, they didn't need the sword to govern; they were self-governed.

Now, fast-forward to today: where Bible reading and prayer are outlawed from public school, and where social liberalism, the homosexual agenda, and the unquenching desire for more and more pleasure, money, and fame are destroying all semblance of order and blurring the lines between right and wrong. The Democratic Party has a solution: bigger government. "Let's govern by the sword and regulate, regulate, regulate!" Problem: this is not AT ALL what our Founders had in mind for our country. This is the road to socialism and possibly to communism. The Republican Party also has a solution: keep the smaller government at all costs. Problem: without a moral society, we will implode without a big government to keep us in line.
McCain and Obama both said today that the current economic crisis is the result of the greed of Wall Street. Well, what do you expect? We have left the moral compass that is the Word of God, and this is what we get for it: greed, selfishness, and capitalism gone crazy.

Attention, Republicans and Democrats: neither one of you have the solution to this problem. The only solution is Jesus Christ. He still is and ever will be "THE way, THE truth, and THE life."
