I have been praying for 2 weeks now that God would foil the plots of those who desire to cause mass destruction to the United States. Then, a pastor in our pastors' prayer meeting today shared a "God-dream" he had concerning a nuclear explosion. This man is quite prophetic, and the details of the dream are details he did not understand until after consulting his wife after waking. In other words, I believe wholeheartedly that God is speaking concerning these things.
Now, we all know that there are countries and governments who would like nothing more than to cause mass casualties and confusion through the detonating of a nuclear bomb either on or above American soil. So, knowing their desire plus knowing that Iran is now adding to that desire the ability plus now there being prophetic words about nuclear detonation, it looks pretty grim, right?
Well, the question is, "Why does God give dreams like the one he gave to my pastor friend?" Does He give them to show what is inevitable? Or does He give them so that we would respond in the way He desires us to? To answer that question, let's look at ancient Nineveh in the book of Jonah in the Bible. God sent His prophet to Nineveh with the message, "If you don't repent from your sins, in 40 days you'll be toast!" (that's from the NRV: the New Ryan Version). It wasn't inevitable; something could be done...and it was. To Jonah's chagrin, Nineveh repented (even the animals had to fast!), and God relented from sending judgment.
I'm going to be honest: I believe that unless God is called by the Church to intervene, the United States is going to be hit very soon. It is absolutely imperative that we are seeking the Lord RIGHT NOW for Him to have mercy, to foil the plots of our enemies, and most importantly, to bring the fires of His Holy Spirit and repentance instead of the fires of nuclear war.
