A Message to Iran

I have to hand it to our President; this is noble. It is a humble and pleasant outreach to the Iranian government and people. But, unfortunately, it is also naive. I fear that our culture and this administration have so underestimated the power of religious drive because it has been so minimalized in our country over the last few decades. When one (Ahmadinejad) believes he is his god's chosen instrument to bring about the return of the Islamic savior through mass chaos and bloodshed, why would he listen to even the President of the United States? Human offers of olive branches have no effect on those who are consumed by what they believe their deity is telling them to do.
