The simply shocking headline from Saturday, January 31 on http://www.littlegreenfootballs.com/:
"Banks closing, millions of homes in foreclosure, a major recession; so what does the Democrat-controlled Congress do? They give every member an extra $93,000 in petty cash."
I know this isn't President Obama's fault--he can't control what Congress does--but it does beg the question: "Is THIS the change we signed up for?" This seems to be a shameless, "do as I say, not as I do" act, and I believe we need to seriously put the pressure on these people-Democrat and Repubican alike-and say "we are not going to re-elect anyone who frivolously spends money we don't have."

This is rank hypocrisy. Democrat Congressmen denounce CEOs who got huge bonuses ($18 billion amongst them) yet their companies asked for bailout money. But, Congress is the body that created the financial problem in the first place (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, mandated fuel standards, continuing to pass deficit budgets, etc.), and now THEY are asking for a bonus??? It's high time to run for office, buddy!
Ry,
Remember to click on the actual title of the story at other blogs, THEN copy and paste the URL. This will give you the URL of the actual story, not for the blog in general. Took a bit of scrolling to find the story at LGF. No big, just wanted to say. You probably knew that, but since you were blogging at 2 IN THE MORNING you were dazed and confused. =)
